Ross Stackhouse is the Pastor of HeavenEarth Church and serves as the Spiritual/Religious Sector Representative of Empower Johnson County.
Ross is an ordained pastor in the United Methodist Church. He attended Purdue University for undergrad studies, and Vanderbilt Divinity School. Ross’s first ministry job was at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Carmel; where he served for 6 years. He was then appointed to the Johnson County area in 2019, with a mission to build a new church which is now known as HeavenEarth Church, located in Whiteland, Indiana.
Ross has been married to his wife Angela for 11 years, and they have two wonderful kids, Boaz and Iva. We sat down with Ross to learn more about his connection with Empower Johnson County and his passion for helping people in our community.
How Did You Get Involved with Empower Johnson County?
Ross has a passion for people who are curious about God or spirituality but have a hard time with organized religion for whatever reason. When we asked Ross about what drew him to become part of Empower, he shared that “as a part of my faith, I believe the church should be on the frontlines of helping to make a difference with the issues affecting our communities the most”-and that is exactly what he has done!

HeavenEarth Church is a church for ALL people-with a special outreach focused on those who feel disconnected, are struggling with poverty, or struggling with addiction. Ross shared that the vision of their church is to be “a network of community partnerships and small groups that also gathers on Sunday mornings for community time and worship.”

Upcoming Events:
- Recovery Church–spiritual support and community for folks seeking recovery–on Wednesdays at 6:30pm at 309 E Main Street (right across from Whiteland High School) with a free catered meal.
- Small groups night on September 29 at 6:30 PM at the same address–all of our small groups get together for fun and a community meal, a great time for someone looking to try out faith community again beyond Sunday mornings.
- As for Sundays, HeavenEarth Church gathers at 9:30am at the same address.
